Renting a Longarm Machine....

What you need to know!

What do I need to do to be ready for Longarm Rental?

Completed quilt top, squared and freshly pressed. Batting that is 4-6” larger on all sides than your quilt top; the less wrinkled the better. Backing fabric that is 4-5” larger than your quilt top on all sides; freshly pressed. If there is a seam, horizontal is ideal.

What if I do not finish my quilt in my rental session? If you run out of time during your session and do not finish your quilt, you can schedule another time to finish your quilt based on open session times. In some cases, you may be able to leave your quilt and return the next day, it just depends on availability of the machine.

What if I’m uncomfortable with using the machine on my own? Not to worry you are never left alone with a machine, you have me there to answer questions and help guide you on use of the machine during your project. I will personally load your quilt and help you design your quilting layouts.

Required Training Workshops: Before using our longarm machines, we offer an Infinity 26 introduction workshop, you're welcome to bring your own quilt to train on during the session. Please note that all renters are required to take this workshop before using our longarm machines.

Minimum Rental: To ensure ample time for your projects, we suggest a minimum rental period of 2 hours.

Machine Availability: Please note that our machines are available for rent to one person at a time. Contact us to discuss availability and to arrange your rental and training schedule.

For your first rental, we suggest a baby/lap size quilts or a twin lap size quilt, graduating to queen/king after 2-3 rentals. This allows you to get used to running the machine and not getting fatigued on your first time.

For larger quilts and more complicated patterns, we suggest a consultation with Teri on the time needed for the rental.
